5K number 11... CONQUERED!

Hey y'all!

To say Saturday was awesome would be an understatement! No I didn't get a personal best time or anything like that.... But I was able to meet so many AMAZING and supportive people throughout the morning and that is a huge win in my book! So let me start from the beginning! It started out as a normal 5K morning. I got up, got around, drank some coffee and headed off to Hernando. When I arrived at the race site I went over and checked in and then hurried back to my car to get the rest of the way ready... It was almost GO TIME!!

After I was all ready I headed back to the start line... Where I was able to meet and chat with the AMAZING Miss Robin! The 5K is in honor of her son Noah and y'all I was so incredibly honored that I got to chat with her! As I was walking to the start line I encountered another gentleman(Mr Keith). He and I talked about my 5K journey and he told me how amazing it was that I was willing to do this! Definitely good motivation before the race! Once I got to the start line I put my headphones in... It was GO TIME! Y'all I gotta admit that first half mile was ROUGH! I for some reason was totally strugglin.... Then God put Jack and Cat in my path! Y'all these two were so amazing! We laughed and sang and I was able to tell them a little about Spina Bifida... I am so incredibly glad God put them in my path that day! So I we were walking along I happened to look up and the 5K route sign and notice something different... Y'all the AMAZING ladies from the Noah's Gift Foundation had added little motivational signs to the race route just for me! Not even gonna lie I cried almost every time I saw one! It was the most amazing surprise EVER!

Around the two mile mark we caught up with Miss Robin and one of Noah's best friends... And they decided to finish the race with us! As we rounded the last corner Miss Robin told Jack to find a song for us to walk across the finish line to. I mentioned that "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten had been my theme song all summer long... And that is what we crossed the finish line to! As we crossed the line there was a huge crowd cheering us on! It was one of the best 5K finishes I have ever experienced!

After the 5K I was able to chat with so many AMAZING people and got so many congratulations! We then made our way over to the awards area. As I was standing around waiting for the awards to start Cat came up to me and said "Miss Robin is looking for you!"... When we got over to Miss Robin she said I have a special seat for you! Y'all I truly felt so special that whole day and I can't thank those girls enough! As the awards were starting to wrap up the MC said they had one more award... The perseverance award... And for a second year in a row the recipient of that award was me! It was such an honor for me!

Y’all I can't even put into words how absolutely amazing this day was! I have always said if I able inspire just one person and teach just one person about Spina Bifida than this whole journey will have been worth it... Well I think on Saturday I did just that! I 100% can not wait to see where God takes me next on this journey! Without him none of this would even be possible! So I may be taking a few days just rest my little body(It needs it!)... But then it's back at it! Bring on 5K number twelve!

❤️Hugs💙
