Sometimes God throws you a little curveball!

Hey y'all!
It's been an interesting couple of weeks since my last blog! A short time after I hit 1,900 miles my knee began to hurt and became pretty swollen. Well I just thought it was how hard I had pushed that day so I kind of ignored it... And then it started to get way worse! So I decided to go ahead and make an appointment with the Ortho and see if we could figure out what was up! Well of course my Ortho I normally see was out of town and wouldn't be able to see me until the next week. So I sucked it up and made an appointment with a different Ortho for the next day. Now anyone that knows me knows how incredibly picky I am about Ortho's! But my leg was hurting so bad that I had to be seen! The day of my Ortho appointment my anxiety was in absolute OVERDRIVE! I got checked in and as I was waiting to be seen I played every worst case scenery over and over in my head.... Finally I was taken back to X-Ray and then to a room to wait for the doctor. I was only in the exam room maybe 5-10 minutes before the doctor came in but y'all it seemed like HOURS! When he finally came in he said "Well the good news is there are no broken bones and the pins in your feet are holding strong!"! I was super relieved and excited... Until he said "The bad news is you have tendinitis in your knee and will need to rest that leg for at least a week! No unnecessary walking!"! Now I know what some of y'all are thinking "It's just walking and it's only one week!"! But y'all when you do an activity pretty much EVERY day it becomes a big part of your life! So being told you can't do that activity is ROUGH! It was definitely a SUPER long and boring week but I did as I was told until I could get into my normal Ortho...

This past Wednesday I was FINALLY able to see my normal Ortho and all the rest and icing paid off because he cleared me to SLOWLY get back to walking! He emphasized SLOWLY SEVERAL times in the appointment. So Thursday morning(Exactly 2 weeks after this whole ordeal began!) I was able to get back to walkin. I started out small as I was told. It definitely wasn't the most comfortable walk I have ever had but I was back walkin so I was happy! AND my week got even better on Friday when I was able to walk one mile and backed it up with another mile that evening!

This morning I decided to take it easy again and walked another 15 minute walk(Ok yeah it was actually 16 but who's counting😉)! My knee definitely isn't back to normal yet... But it's getting better and better every day! With  not being cleared to walk till Thursday I will finish this week with only 4.28 miles.... But hey thanks to this 4.28 miles I am now only 86.50 miles from 2,000 miles!!!

The goal this week is get back to 2 miles... SLOWLY of course! Exactly EIGHT weeks till the Forrest Spence 5K y'all... The push to get back to being 5K ready is on!!

❤️Hugs💙
