16.09 miles for the week!!

Hey y'all! 
Two weeks ago today I CONQUERED my EIGHTH 5K... And the next day I went to the beach! I got in a few good walks while I was on vacation but I spent a good majority of the week being lazy, laying by the pool and the beach and enjoying time with my fam! Last Saturday I returned to Oxford and it was time to get back at it and start getting ready for 5K number NINE! Which by the way is THREE weeks from today! 



After taking the week off getting back into my routine/stride has been a STRUGGLE! My first couple walks this week were WAY slow and filled with LOTS of rest breaks! It felt like I was back at square one in the walking journey! On Wednesday morning I was FINALLY able to get back to 2 miles!! But that walks was definitely not easy AT ALL! But after hitting that 2 miles something clicked in my body and the rest of the week I have been on the up and up! 





This morning the weather was BEAUTIFUL here in Mississippi! I had originally planned to take the day off as I knew I would be on my feet all day attending the Ole Miss Baseball game and Ole Miss Football Grove Bowl... But the outdoors was calling my name and I ended up getting in an AWESOME 1.02 mile walk in before I headed to the baseball field! My legs are definitely EXHAUSTED this evening but the fact that I can say I hit 16.09 miles for the week thanks to this mornings walk makes it all worth it! 







This week the plan is to push my body even harder to get it back to being 5K ready before The Bad Dog 5K... Stay tuned!
