5K number NINE... CONQUERED!

Hey y'all!  To say Saturday was a good day of walkin would be an understatement... Cause it was an AMAZING day of walkin!! I arrived at the 5K early, got checked in and was able to head back to my car to relax a little bit before it was GO TIME!  Y'all the first mile to mile and a half of this 5K was AWESOME!! Thanks to a lot of downhill walkin I was passing people like it was the last lap of the Daytona 500! It was a GREAT feeling! Then came the bigger hills... Which were a BIG struggle! I knew I was slowing down... Or at least I THOUGHT I was! Around the last half mile or so I got a big boost when one of the ladies I had met at a 5K I did earlier this year ran by me and yelled "Go Kelley Go!"! Definitely put a little pep in my step and gave me a little push to finish STRONG! I crossed the finish line and looked down at my fitness tracker and it said I had finished in just over 1hr 10min! I was completely thrilled! The last 5K I finished in 1hr 14mins so to see that ...

Hey y'all!  It has been an AMAZING week of walking!! Y'all I have to be honest the last couple months I haven't felt anywhere near as confident in my walking as I was last year. My first two 5K's of 2019 have been WAY slower than last year and my motivation has just not been what it was... That all changed this week! I went into every day this week excited about walking and motivated to make next weekends 5K the best 5K I have done so far this year!! Tuesday was the day I decided to get in my mock/practice 5K... And it was AWESOME! I had a pep in my step that I haven't have in a while and my 3.10 mile time was back to what it was last year! Now don't get me wrong it wasn't an easy walk by any means! No walk is easy for me but it was definitely the best walk I have had in a LONG time! I was definitely SUPER excited and extremely proud when I was done with that walk!  After that walk the walk only seemed to get better! I wasn't stopping to take as many res...

Hey y'all!  So if you read last weeks blog you may remember where I said that I was going to go harder than last week'where I walked just over 16 miles.... Well that didn't quite pan out! My body is still struggling a little more than I expected to get back into a walkin routine after being on vacation. My back was SUPER stiff for the first half of the week and that unfortunately made for a few not so pleasant walk. As disappointing as the first half of the week was I definitely bounced back in a big way the second half of the week! But it was a little to late mileage wise. But hey I still walked 15.23 miles for the week and that is pretty darn good in my book!  Today has been a rainy/stormy day here in Mississippi. Which meant it was a treadmill walkin morning! And y'all I was SO happy with how this walk felt! I felt like myself again!! Hey y'all!  Two weeks ago today I CONQUERED my EIGHTH 5K... And the next day I went to the beach! I got in a few good walks while I was on vacation but I spent a good majority of the week being lazy, laying by the pool and the beach and enjoying time with my fam! Last Saturday I returned to Oxford and it was time to get back at it and start getting ready for 5K number NINE! Which by the way is THREE weeks from today!  After taking the week off getting back into my routine/stride has been a STRUGGLE! My first couple walks this week were WAY slow and filled with LOTS of rest breaks! It felt like I was back at square one in the walking journey! On Wednesday morning I was FINALLY able to get back to 2 miles!! But that walks was definitely not easy AT ALL! But after hitting that 2 miles something clicked in my body and the rest of the week I have been on the up and up!  This morning the weather was BEAUTIFUL here in Mississippi!
