Over 18 miles for the week Y'all!!

Hey y'all!  This has been an AMAZING week of walkin!! I started off a little slow and sluggish... But Tuesday morning I kicked to into HIGH GEAR with a major goal in my sights... 1,600 miles!! Wednesday morning I looked at my app and said to myself "Today's the day you hit 1,600 miles!!"! I got in an AMAZING 2.51 miles on the treadmill and that put me 1.50 miles from 1,600!!! Well that evening you better believe I gave it everything I had and I DID IT!! I can now say I have walked over 1,600 miles since November of 2016!! I gotta be honest even with all I have accomplished walking wise the last 2yrs.. That number COMPLETELY blows my mind! No one (including myself!) could have EVER imagined 34 yrs ago all that these little legs would help me to accomplish! The doctors didn't even think I would be able to walk on my own or if I would even be able to walk at all!! But God had big plans for for me and these little legs! After hitting that number I was totally motivate...

Back at EIGHTEEN miles for the week!!

Hey y'all!  OMG this week has been SO challenging but SO AMAZING! The week started off slightly slow but definitely kicked in to HIGH gear Wednesday morning... When I got back to 3.10 miles for the first time in TWO months! It also happened to be the farthest I have EVER walked on a treadmill!! It was such a proud moment for me!  At the beginning of the week I set two BIG goals for myself.. 1)Get back to 3.10 miles and 2)Get back to 18 miles for the week !!! Well we know that I CONQUERED the 3.10 miles but did I get to 18 miles for the week... You bet I did! Yesterday I looked at my mileage so far for the week and I figured out I would need to hit 2.02 miles if I wanted to hit 18 for the week... And I made it happen! Now don't get me wrong it was not as easy walk AT ALL!! My body is definitely SO tired and incredibly sore.. I mean this is the hardest I have pushed my body since probably October! But I out my headphones on, hunkered down and Got.It.DONE! Not going to lie when I...

Back at 3.10 miles y’all!!

Hey y'all!! This has been a BIG day of walking y'all!! Last night I decided I was going to go for it... And go for 3.10 miles for the first time in TWO months! My hope was that it would warm up fast enough for me to walk at the park... Unfortunately that didn't happen😞 But I was still more than determined to get back to 3.10 miles... And that is EXACTLY what I did! I am going to sugar coat it... This walked SUCKED! Not the whole walk, but that last mile and a half was the mile and half I have walked since the first time I walked 3.10 miles! I wish I could say I walked the whole thing without stopping at all... But I did end up having to stop to rest a few times.... But it was only for a few second and then I was back at it! Besides actually getting to 3.10 the thing I was most proud of was the pace I had going! I didn't have to keep bumping the treadmill speed up and down like I normally do! I thought when I was finished that seeing a slower 3.10 time than I normally ...

Back at 2 miles!!

Hey y'all!  Today was a BIG day of walking.... Cause I hit 2 miles for the first time in a little over 3 weeks!! I have to be honest getting back in to 5K shape has been WAY harder than I thought it would be! Before this morning I was questioning if I was even going to be able to get back in shape by February! But after this mornings walk I am feeling FABULOUS and am more than confident I will be ready for the 5K's! Now back to this morning... I was HOPING I would be able to get my 2 miler in at the park.... But Mother Nature had other plans! When I woke up this morning it was FREEZING! So I gave up the idea of walking outside and headed for the gym to hit the treadmill!! My first mile felt GREAT! Then I hit the 25 minute mark and it kind of went down hill from there! I could definitely tell I haven't walked this far in a while! My legs were SOOOO tired... But I kept pushing! I did have to stop and rest for a few seconds once or twice but I made it to two miles and that is ...

Hey y'all!  It's been a while since I have blogged and to be honest the break from walking and blogging was much needed! I went to Indiana over the holidays and didn't do any walking at all... And it was the perfect way to recharge!! While I was hanging out in Indiana I told myself that when I got back it was GO TIME for getting back to being 5K ready!  Well this week I have stuck to that! For the first time in forever I have made sure to get not one but TWO walks in each day AND Friday I made it back over three miles for the day!!!  Now it has definitely been a HUGE struggle getting back in shape! I have been more tired this week than I have in a LONG time and ibuprofen has definitely been needed... But seeing that I had hit just over 11 miles for the week today made all that worth it!  I also did another big thing this week... I signed up for my SEVENTH 5K!! And I found my EIGHTH and will be signing up for it this week!! They are actually within in a week of each o...
