Scars part 4:My worst scar...

My scar on my back... been there since birth! To be honest this blog has given me GREAT anxiety and fear. I have written it and deleted it without posting it and even posted it ....and then deleted it! This scar has been the cause of HUNDREDS of meltdowns! It is the reason I don't wear bikinis even when I buy them. It's the reason I try to make sure all my shirts are long and won't ride up giving people a peak at it. I can probably count on both hands the number of people I have WILLINGLY let see this scar... Heck I can't even look at it most days without crying! It's the reason I HATE changing in front of a mirror. This reveal has been one of the hardest and most emotional things I have ever done! Every Spina Bifida patient has this scar (Or something similar!)... Well here is what Spina Bifida looks like on the outside... 




The scar actually goes ALL the way down! It's not pretty and as I said it has been the cause of GREAT anxiety for me... But without it I may not even be here today which makes living with it a little bit easier! #SpinaBifidalife #BackScarReveal #Realtalk #SpinaBifidaAwareness

Hey y'all!!  Yesterday was such a HUGE morning of walking!! My body decided to wake me up SUPER early! Which was both good and bad... Good because it meant I was able to stretch out more and ice my knee... Bad in that it gave my anxiety more time to ramp up! I decided since I was up early I would go ahead and head to the race site and get checked in. So all summer long I have said my theme song for the year is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.. Y'all I kid you not that song came on not even two minutes into my drive! God works in mysterious ways is all I gotta say about that one! He knows what we need and when we need it! 97.60 miles from 2,000 miles!!

Hey y'all!  So this has been one AMAZING week of walkin! I knew at the beginning of the week if I could push myself I would hit 1,900 miles before the end of the walkin week.. So you better believe that is exactly what I did! And it totally paid off because on Thursday morning I hit that magic number! But it definitely wasn't easy at all! Since I had pushed myself so hard the first half of the week when it came time to push and hit the last 2.80 miles my body was not having it! I knew when I started the walk that it was definitely going to be a struggle to finish.. But I was t about to just give up! I told myself it didn't matter how slow I went or how many times I had to stop  I was hitting 2,000 miles! And that is exactly what I did! Surprisingly I didn't have to stop a rest a whole lot but I was SUPER slow! But I pushed thru and hit 1,900 miles walked since November of 2016!!! 2.55 miles for the day!!

Hey y'all! So after hitting over miles yesterday, today was an "easy" day. This morning I was watching some of my nieces and nephews so it was a treadmill walking morning... I ended up walking a little later than I planned but I ended up getting in 1.42 miles!! My treadmill time is SLOWLY getting better!!  Tonight my sister was home so I got in a walk outside!! It was definitely the hottest walk I have dealt with this summer... But I made it another 1.13 miles!! That was over what I was planning!! AND my mile time was UNDER 20 minutes!!  Tomorrow is the last day of the walking week and I am right on track to have my highest mileage week in over a month.. Stay Tuned!!  ❤️Hugs💙 Kelley
