Getting fitted for the new braces

Hey Y'all! 
Back in January I got fitted for my first set of braces in probably 15yrs (Yeah I know you shouldn't go that long!🙈). It was the first time I had ever gone thru the experience by myself.... and it was way more stressful then I remember! The initial fitting went great and was everything I remembered! But then it took TWO weeks to get the braces back to try on! Now when we ordered them the Ortho asked if I mind them being all black... and I SPECIFICALLY said "No I want them to be the off white or something similar because that is what I have always worn!"... So what color were they when they came back... BLACK! We then had to recast and go with a different company who did make the braces in the color I wanted!
I then of course had to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks for them to come in! This time when they came in.... They were too short!
Y'all at this point I wanted to cry! So the wonderful Ortho called the company and got the issue resolved and REORDERED them yet again! This time thankfully it only took a week for them to come in. But on the morning of my appointment this go pick them up I received a call that they wanted to move my appointment to the next week! Y'all I came UNGLUED! Needless to say my appointment stayed the same and I went to get them... When I got there I was SO nervous worrying that there would be another problem! But this time everything was perfect! They are actually WAY different then the ones I have had in the past but to be honest they are my favorite pair yet! We did have to go back in once or twice to fix a few padding issues but thankfully nothing more major! Hopefully these will last we a while and I won't have go to thru that again for a few more yrs!

Hey y'all!!  Yesterday was such a HUGE morning of walking!! My body decided to wake me up SUPER early! Which was both good and bad... Good because it meant I was able to stretch out more and ice my knee... Bad in that it gave my anxiety more time to ramp up! I decided since I was up early I would go ahead and head to the race site and get checked in. So all summer long I have said my theme song for the year is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.. 97.60 miles from 2,000 miles!!

Hey y'all!  So this has been one AMAZING week of walkin! I knew at the beginning of the week if I could push myself I would hit 1,900 miles before the end of the walkin week.. So you better believe that is exactly what I did! And it totally paid off because on Thursday morning I hit that magic number! But it definitely wasn't easy at all! Since I had pushed myself so hard the first half of the week when it came time to push and hit the last 2.80 miles my body was not having it! I knew when I started the walk that it was definitely going to be a struggle to finish.. But I was t about to just give up! I told myself it didn't matter how slow I went or how many times I had to stop  I was hitting 2,000 miles! And that is exactly what I did! Surprisingly I didn't have to stop a rest a whole lot but I was SUPER slow! But I pushed thru and hit 1,900 miles walked since November of 2016!!! 2.55 miles for the day!!

Hey y'all! So after hitting over miles yesterday, today was an "easy" day. This morning I was watching some of my nieces and nephews so it was a treadmill walking morning... I ended up walking a little later than I planned but I ended up getting in 1.42 miles!! My treadmill time is SLOWLY getting better!!  Tonight my sister was home so I got in a walk outside!! It was definitely the hottest walk I have dealt with this summer... But I made it another 1.13 miles!! That was over what I was planning!! AND my mile time was UNDER 20 minutes!!  Tomorrow is the last day of the walking week and I am right on track to have my highest mileage week in over a month.. Stay Tuned!!  ❤️Hugs💙 Kelley
