Almost tailgatin time!❤️💙❤️💙

Hey Y'all!
 So if you live in the south or have ever been to a southern college football game..... You know we take our tailgating VERY seriously! But no other school in the south does it better then we do at Ole Miss! Guys in nice shorts/slacks and polo shirts and girls in sundresses and rompers(Or something to that effect!) are the normal around here. We gather in a place called The Grove with our tents and BBQ's and some go ALL out with AWESOME decorations and tv's and satellites!! Let me just say... I'm originally from Indiana and before I came to Mississippi I had NEVER seen tailgating like it's done at Ole Miss... and I have absolutely fallen in love with it! It's a time to hang out with friends and family and prepare to watch our Rebels take on whomever we are playing that week! Ole Miss was actually voted the TOP college for tailgating in 2016 by USA Today and SEVRAL other publications! 
      Of course before the season kicks off is the fun adventure of finding that PERFECT outfit for the home opener! In seasons past I have always gone the "safe" route and worn a dress with boots or leggings to cover up my braces.... Let me tell you there are THOUSANDS of people that come to watch the Rebels play and tailgate in The Grove and the thought of anyone seeing my braces has always given me such MAJOR anxiety... so I have covered them up! Well this year since I have been so bold and wearing shorts all summer I thought it would be a GREAT idea to go BOLD for the home opener and I picked out a romper that can't be worn with boots and leggings... Thus meaning I have to showcase my braces🙈! I went to Kohls and tried one on but when I went back the next day they had sold out of my size.... I was so mad that I COMPLETELY forgot about looking online until a friend reminded me! So I went online and there it was... and in the right size!!! Well I bought it right away and received the email the other day it had shipped.... And that last part has sent me into PANIC mode! I mean it's one thing showing off my braces and wearing shorts in front of my neighbors... But this is THOUSANDS of strangers! Ok not ALL of them will be strangers to me... But still! My anxiety over this home opener is in OVERDRIVE at the moment! Can I actually convince myself to wear this romper?! Or will I chicken out last minute and go get something in my "comfort zone"..... Well I guess we will find out on September 2nd when Ole Miss takes on South Alabama in our season opener! Until then HOTTY TODDY Y'ALL!! ❤️💙❤️💙

97.60 miles from 2,000 miles!!

Hey y'all!  So this has been one AMAZING week of walkin! I knew at the beginning of the week if I could push myself I would hit 1,900 miles before the end of the walkin week.. So you better believe that is exactly what I did! And it totally paid off because on Thursday morning I hit that magic number! But it definitely wasn't easy at all! Since I had pushed myself so hard the first half of the week when it came time to push and hit the last 2.80 miles my body was not having it! I knew when I started the walk that it was definitely going to be a struggle to finish.. But I was t about to just give up! I told myself it didn't matter how slow I went or how many times I had to stop  I was hitting 2,000 miles! And that is exactly what I did! Surprisingly I didn't have to stop a rest a whole lot but I was SUPER slow! But I pushed thru and hit 1,900 miles walked since November of 2016!!! 9.13 miles in TWO days

Hey Y'all!  So when I saw earlier this week that North Mississippi was suppose to get a TON of rain today... I panicked! Hitting 500 is such a BIG deal to me and so I decided to push myself harder then I think I ever have.. and I walked a total of 9.13 miles in just TWO days! That is the most I have walked in just a 2 day period!  It was a little bit rough but I made it thru and I'm still able to walk just fine today. Some people may say "Your body can't handle that with your Spina Bifida!".... Well I'm here to tell you my body CAN  and DID handle it! Am I sore today... oh yeah! But that soreness isn't any worse then when I have walked any other day! I have had people tell me that "Oh your pushing yourself too hard!"! Most those people that tell me that don't know ANYTHING about Spina Bifida! Also I have had this body for 32 yrs I KNOW what it can and can't handle! And then there were TEN!!

Hey y'all!!  Yesterday was such a HUGE morning of walking!! My body decided to wake me up SUPER early! Which was both good and bad... Good because it meant I was able to stretch out more and ice my knee... Bad in that it gave my anxiety more time to ramp up! I decided since I was up early I would go ahead and head to the race site and get checked in. So all summer long I have said my theme song for the year is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.. Y'all I kid you not that song came on not even two minutes into my drive! God works in mysterious ways is all I gotta say about that one! He knows what we need and when we need it! I arrived at the Memphis Botanic Gardens where the 5K was taking place, parked and went to check in!  After I checked in I went back to my car to just chill and TRY to relax...
