Hey y'all!!  Yesterday was such a HUGE morning of walking!! My body decided to wake me up SUPER early! Which was both good and bad... Good because it meant I was able to stretch out more and ice my knee... Bad in that it gave my anxiety more time to ramp up! I decided since I was up early I would go ahead and head to the race site and get checked in. So all summer long I have said my theme song for the year is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.. Y'all I kid you not that song came on not even two minutes into my drive! God works in mysterious ways is all I gotta say about that one! He knows what we need and when we need it! I arrived at the Memphis Botanic Gardens where the 5K was taking place, parked and went to check in!  After I checked in I went back to my car to just chill and TRY to relax... Who am I kidding relaxing was not happenin! My nerves were in OVERDRIVE so I decided to just get out of the car and go walk around a little bit to see if that would help... As I...

2,000 miles CONQUERED!

My journey to learning how to walk wasn't like the average person. In fact before I was born doctors told my parents that I wouldn't be able to walk AT ALL! And IF I did I would most definitely need the assistance of a walker. Well for the first 4yrs of my life it seemed like they may be right. The only type of walking I did was with the assistance of a walker... Then some thing clicked inside and I said I was going to be like the normal kids who didn't use a walker... And y'all I have never looked back! In November of 2016 I set out on what would prove to be one of the biggest and most rewarding walking journeys I have ever been on! When I started this journey my intent was just to walk 1-2 days a week. Nothing big, just get to know the neighbors in the neighborhood I had just moved into and maybe get me in a little better shape than I was in at the time.... Little did I know at the time but I was about to CONQUER things no one EVER thought I would! I still remember th...

Hey y'all!  OMG y'all this last week of walking has been AMAZING! My knee is FINALLY starting to feel back to normal and I'm slowly starting to see the mile times I was seeing before this whole tendinitis issues began back in June! After getting in over three miles for the day on Thursday I decided to take it somewhat "easy" with my walkin on Friday... And still managed to get in 2.75 miles for the day... Which put me at 17.03 miles for the week!!! Y'all that is the highest amount of miles I have had since the beginning of June!! I was hitting between 17-18 miles almost every week last year with no problem but this year it hasn't been as easy! So to see that number again makes me one happy girl!!  But the thing that made me the most happy.... The fact that with thanks to that 17.03 miles I am now only 15.10 miles from hitting one of my biggest goals of the year... Hitting 2,000 miles walked since November of 2016!!! I've had some people say "Why i...
